Today was a rest day woohoo, but the reason for the rest day is because tomorrow is my longest run of the week, my longest run ever actually. Although it was a rest day, I still did something important in regards to the half. Possibly more important than the training itself...I bought shoes.
Asics, to be exact. Kristen and I went to Dick's (yes, we discussed the awkwardness of said store's name), and an employee in the shoe section asked me questions about my feet. I explained that my feet are messed up (pronation and flatness), but that cuteness was a must... Fortunately, I didn't have to decide between a sleek, colorful running shoe and an arch-enhancing, all-white sneaker (because we know which one I would've gone with... the cute one) thanks to my wonderful, arch-enhancing, sleek, pink Asics! My favorite part is the swirly inside, obviously. Oh, and they fit nicely too.
The guy helping me brought out two pairs at first. I tried both on, but clearly the Asic wins.
I already feel more like a runner. Tomorrow's run will be a piece of cake...
maybe.
p.s. Went to see The Town with Kristen this afternoon. I highly recommend it. Thought-provoking, intense, funny at parts, and you get to follow Ben Affleck around for 2 hours, enough said.
It is definitely the shoes that make the runner. Ask any kid- new shoes make you run faster. Have you tried it, Sterling?

Those are so cute, Sterl! How far are you running these days? Pace? And you should consider running in a loop so you don't get lost hahaha umm I'm in bed, eating goldfish, and watching tv right now. This blog is putting me to shame. So proud of youuuuuu xx
