Lost and Luke's

Today I did my second run (3 miles)... only 10.1 more to go... I ran in the morning so the temperatures weren't desert-like yet. I listened to a freshly created running mix which contains every sugary pop song out there. A little Justin Bieber, a little Britney, a little Katy Perry... you get the idea. I was a sweaty mess, my hair was out of control, and I could smell myself (which is never a good sign), but I completed the 3 miles! (I'll keep the pace per mile to myself because I think it would take away from my victory just a little bit) Unfortunately, my 3 mile mark ended on a tiny side street and I had no earthly idea where I was. Thanks to Steve Jobs and the brilliance of the iphone, I was able to locate myself (a little blue dot) on the Maps App and move myself back towards the house.
Later, Kristen (sister-in-law) and I went to Luke's Locker. Have you been there? It makes me all giddy. I could stay in there for hours, looking at the neon fluorescent workout clothes and attempting to rationalize why I most certainly need five new pairs of Nike shorts in different colors. Instead of purchasing the Nike shorts (although I did look longingly at them for a good 10 minutes), I bought two pairs of shorts that have attached spandex underneath. They are super comfortable- I'm wearing a pair right now (They are Nike too, but not the Nike shorts that I already have in 500 different colors). I also bought two sports bras for high-impact activities (aka training for a half marathon woot woot).
After parting ways with Kristen, I went to Heart House. Today, I helped the kiddos decorate folders they put their work in. They decided I was an artist and should sell my artwork... because I could write their names in block letters. Their sincerity was still a self-esteem boost regardless.

It's late so I'm off to bed. Happy weekend, guys! ~Sterling

  1. Wise choice purchasing the sports bras. You don't want one of the girls bouncing up and knocking you out cold! HA!
